I was born and raised in Shenzhen - a city that’s a full of youth and practically a blank page. After moving to the U.K. back in 2015, I started my production journey. It was mainly based around old school hip-hop but not the usual kind because being defined to one genre was never my thing. After grime blew up in the U.K. soon after, I was more attracted to the instrumentals of it and started digging deeper into a more electronic sound with a steadier beat. A beat that’s not necessarily transmitted through drums but rather a rhythm that reflects what I’ve been doing and listening. Having moved to London last year, I got involved with Eastern Margins - a collective that’s focus on creating a physical space in London for South East/East Asians and artists. As important as online presents, we care just as much as offline parties and physical radio shows. Now, I’m constantly finding a new sound that I’m on at the time while pushing through my academic at the same time.
